Travelling to Austria was mainly Tash's idea. She had it all worked out: the stay in Salzburg, day trip to Vienna, all the Christmas markets and that fabulous Mozart dinner concert. It was definitely an amazing way to experience the festive season. Especially with all that fat snow. Our five days there seemed like something out of a postcard. It was the complete opposite to what we have back home in Australia (which is unfortunately something like fly covered barbecues in the sweltering heat). I must go back there one day.
People: Just Natasha and I.
Memorable Moments: Those wonderful Christmas markets, the Mozart dinner concert and eating all of that luscious apple strudel.
Interesting Stuff: At the end of the Sound of Music, where the Von Trapp family are walking over the mountain to flee German-occupied Austria, they are actually travelling north into Germany.
Personal Notes: Handmade Christmas tree decorations cost a fortune.
Firsts: First time wading in 1 metre deep snow.
