Waking up some 2 hours ago at roughly 3.45 am, I found my sub-conscious struggling to comprehend
Textpattern's two-fold hierarchy and unique tags. All this here is published using glorious
Movabletype, but it's not dynamic. Textpattern on the other hand is. Problem is, I've spent so much time creating this mofo of a site that I'm fretting about whether to reinvest another considerable chunk on my life trying to import this over to another system.
I after 45 minutes of tossing and turning I went downstairs to stare once again at all of the Textpattern resources online. But I still couldn't figure out how I could recreate my journal with this relatively new CMS. And after careful, sleep-deprived thought I have now (at this ungodly hour) reached a conclusion that I should just stick to MT. After all, Moveabletype has been good to me. The tags are simple and it leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling, even though I've had to pay for it.
Dynamic pages would be nice, and Textpattern seems to be more future-proof, but I'm just not willing to go through setting up a blog again. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Textpattern's admin is also pretty ugly :)
UPDATE: Since Movable Type 4.0, this site now uses dynamic pages! Woo hoo!! It did take a fair bit of effort though.
